Church Planting: Argenta

Yep. Church planting. I guess posting this makes it official like updating your relationship status on Facebook. We are moving to Little Rock in order to be a part of what God is doing in the historical urban district of Argenta. In the back of my mind I always knew we would plant again. God has given me comfort by assuring me of this since we were forced to shut down Matthew’s Table/Java Joe’s.

We will be working in full cooperation with the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, the Pulaski County Association, and several local churches who are committed to church planting in general and specifically in Argenta.

Argenta has a mix of housing and businesses. The walkable neighborhood offers both a glimpse of the region’s historic urbanism and a way of community building that challenges the white flight of the 80′s and 90′s.

As we prepare with the hope to move sometime between mid-October, we first of all ask for your prayers. Prayers not only for me and my family, but also for some friends who currently reside in Colorado who will be moving into the neighborhood in January to round out our team.

Also pray for the church planting department of the state convention. These guys are the ones who are currently on the ground generating support. Pray as well for the churches who have agreed to support this new work.

And finally if you would like to support us financially, our immediate need is to continually raise monthly financial support for my family as well as for the Gallups and Cliff who will round out our team soon.

There are a couple of ways you can give.

1. Online. Just click the donate button below and you will be redirected to Pay Pal.

2. By check. Send an email to michael@diningwithsinners.org with “Church Planting: Argenta” in the subject line and I will send you an address where you could mail a check.

Thanks for all of your prayers, financial support, and encouragement.
